The Informative Leaflet of the Queer Cyprus Association on Sexually Transmitted Infections now available ‘online’.

(Nicosia, 19.02.2021) The LGBTI+ in Freedom from Exploitation (LIFE) project, funded by the European Union under the “Together Against Trafficking in Human Beings” grant scheme and implemented by the Queer Cyprus Association in cooperation with KAOS-GL, is making its informative leaflet on “Sexually Transmitted Infections” more accessible by publishing it online on the association’s website.

The Life Project, whose slogan is “for Cyprus where Lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, intersex and beyond (LGBTI+) will be free from exploitation”, aims to contribute to the struggle of LGBTI+s who are trafficked in the northern part of Cyprus. The Project started in May 2019 and is about to complete its first two years. As part of the project, 3 different informative leaflets on “Sexually Transmitted Infections”, “Solidarity Line” and “HIV & AIDS” and a handbook on “Sex Work” have been published. In the wake of Covid-19, the Queer Cyprus association is now making these publications available `online` on our website. We presented the solidarity line booklet two days ago and we are pleased to present today our informative leaflet on Sexually Transmitted Infections.

The Queer Cyprus Association, has been combating for many years in the northern part of Cyprus, for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex and beyond (LGBTI+) of all sexual orientation and gender identity diversity, not to be discriminated against and to have equal access to human rights. Along with our rights-based struggle, we have also carried out studies in the field of health. To break prejudices and raise awareness on the issue, the sexually transmitted infections leaflet has been prepared. This leaflet provides information on common sexually transmitted infections (STIs) such as chlamydia, genital warts, pubic lice, gonorrhea, hepatitis A-B-C, herpes and scabies, along with detailed information about the complaints and suggestions to understand and cope with these infections.

For more detailed information, you can reach the solidarity line from +90 (542) 858 58 47, 7 days a week, between 10:00 and 22:00, by text or phone call. Moreover, you can access the entire informative leaflet at https://www.queercyprus.org/en/sexually-transmitted-infections-stis-informative-leaflet/
